Temporary suspension on US shipments
Starting 22 August 2025, we will temporarily suspend shipments to the United States as Deutsche Post and DHL will no longer be able to accept and transport parcels and postal items containing goods from business customers destined for the United States and Puerto Rico.
A recently signed U.S. Executive Order on removing the "duty-free de minimis treatment" changes the basis for postal goods shipping to the United States for all postal and parcel service providers, including DHL. After 22 August, Deutsche Post will temporarily suspend the acceptance and transport of customer parcels via the postal network to the United States and Puerto Rico.
What does this mean for me?
If you're a customer based in the United States or Puerto Rico, this means that we will be temporarily unable to dispatch any orders going towards the United States/Puerto Rico. Other countries remain unaffected.
If your order is already in transit and has left Germany, there is no action needed from you. If, however, your order is still pending and your tracking number doesn't appear to be working, we'll step in touch by mid September.
Why don't you just ship with someone else?
Most shipping service providers have either suspended shipments to the United States and Puerto Rico or are quoting us rates that we deem unreasonable, even if passed on to the customers.
What will happen to my December 2025 pre-order and my subscription?
We're still accepting pre-orders for the December 2025 edition as we assume that the shipping situation will be normalised by then.
When is this suspension due to be lifted?
Unfortunately, we don’t yet know when this suspension will be lifted, as Deutsche Post hasn’t communicated a timeline for resuming deliveries to the United States. We understand how frustrating this must be, and we share that frustration. The removal of the de minimis exemption has created real challenges for small businesses like ours, making it harder (and more expensive) to get our magazines to the people who want them. We appreciate your patience and support while we navigate this, and we’ll share any updates as soon as we know more.
